Eligibility Criteria

Most general citizens are eligible for Tatkal processing. However, due to security rules, certain categories are ineligible:

Eligible Applicants

  • General Indian citizens applying for fresh passports or renewals.
  • Minors whose parents hold valid passports with matching details.

Ineligible Categories

  • Deported persons or citizens with pending criminal proceedings.
  • Minor children with single parents or separated parents without legal consent.
  • Citizens seeking major demographic changes (e.g. signature or full name change).

Required Document Rules

For Tatkal passports, you must provide **at least 3 documents** from the official list of 12 standard proofs. At least one must be a photo ID and one must contain your current address.

Must contain your full birth date. Digital signature must be validated.
